Spring has Sprung!... in Arizona anyway...

The Perkins' peach tree wishes you all a very happy spring! And to those not in Arizona, hang in there, your spring will come in! (hehe! Sorry if I'm the only one laughing at that... eh hem...)

Our yard wishes you all the luck of the Irish as well. This is our last spring in our home and I think this was our yard's way of wishing us luck. ;) One four leaf clover for each of us to remember it by...

This rosebush is saying goodbye too I think, since this is the prettiest rose it has EVER produced. haha! :)

HAPPY SPRING!

Posting Large Video Clips

Here's what Jordy sent me to help answer my question of large video files....

As for uploading large videos, if you go to your video in My Pictures, right click your video icon and choose Open With... click on Quick Time. That will open your video, then in the upper left hand corner click File, then Export For Web. A window will open up and you can unclick the two i-phone options (leaving the desktop option checked)and then click the ok button and it should start minimizing your video. For example, the video I just shrank (exported) went from 133MB to 82 bytes. (you can always check that by right clicking on the video and clicking on the properties option) This allows blogger to upload your video quickly, unless it is a huge, huge video, then maybe you need to split it. You can use the same process for shrinking pictures before you upload them (before I learned this it took FOREVER for my pictures to upload on my blog. They were just too big!) Anyway, hope that helps!

Update...updated!

Okay...so Jordyn just hooked me up to a link that explained the "author" vs "administrator" deal...so now we are ALL "administrators" - meaning we can edit each other's postings (like going to my reuniono photo post and adding your family names!)That would be wonderful...and I'll do the same if you post photos of MY family and you don't know their names! This way we can "responsibly" make updates and corrections and additions to each other's posts. And remember - only 10 of us are being notified by email every time there's a new post - so please forward that email notification to all your siblings and children so they can keep up!
Geewhiz - this is finally making sense - hope it is to you too!

Newsflash!

Hi Family...just wanted to let you know that we added a setting that will now notify by email a maximum of 10 family members everytime there is a new posting to our family blog. We picked at least one cousin from each family, so if you receive a notification of a new posting through your email - please forward it to your siblings and children to make sure everyone stays in the loop. Wish it could handle more than just 10 names, but that's the way it goes - so please help out by forwarding along the notification!

Thanks a zillion...and now, why don't you take a minute and check out the blog and maybe post something that's going on in your life!

I'll add right now something I learned the hard way...your videos can't be very big - the size limit is listed but I didn't notice till I tried for a week to post a long one from our reunion. I'm now trying to split it into sections so I can add it to the post. Also, I'm trying to figure out how we can all go into each others posts and add or correct things. I'll keep you "posted" on what I learn. If YOU know how, please leave a message here so we can all benefit from your knowledge!

XOXOMignon

I just learned from Allison that all you do to edit/add to each others posts is to go to "edit post" and click on the one you want to go into. Dahh! So if everyone would go into my recent post of photos from the reunion and add names to your family photos that would be wonderful...and I'll do the same if you post photos of MY family and don't know their names!

November 2009 Julian Reunion - Mignon's Photos

Hi Cousins,

Now that the busy Holiday Season has come and gone...I've FINALLY uploaded all the photos I took at the reunion. So here is your chance to add names and relationships to any you know. I only did my own family - I didn't want to make any mistakes on anyone else's names! So, if you're in a picture, or someone in your family..please add their name and relationship to you. To do this, just go to "posting" - "edit posts" and choose this post by name ( November 2009 Julian Reunion - Mignon's Photos)..then scroll through the photos and add names in the "compose" screen. Then just go to bottom and post it again. I may keep trying to add more video clips at the end...i'm having trouble with them - but here are a few.

Please take a few minutes to upload YOUR photos as well. You can do this by creating a new post with your own name in the "title".

I hope this isn't too confusing to anyone.. if it is..please ask someone for help.

It's been fun to see the first few postings on OUR blog...let's keep it up!

Have fun! XOXOMignon
